What we collect

Account details: if you sign in, your name, email address and profile picture from the sign-in provider you choose (such as Google).

Content: the books you create and the letters, photos, voice messages, names and email addresses that you or your contributors add.

Usage data: basic, aggregated analytics about how the site is used (pages viewed, features used), collected with Google Analytics on fondly.me.

Payments: if you buy Premium, Stripe collects your payment details. We keep only a record that the payment was made for a book (an order id and amount), not your card.

How we use it

To run Fondly: showing books to the people you share them with, sending nothing you have not asked for, unlocking Premium after payment, preventing abuse, and improving the product. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.

Who else handles it

Google (Firebase) hosts the site and stores accounts, books, photos and voice messages, and provides sign-in and analytics. Stripe processes payments. These providers process data for us under their own privacy terms, and data may be stored in the United States.

Who can see a book

Books are private to people who have the link. Anyone with the link can read the book's invitation page and add a contribution; the owner and co-editors can read and manage everything inside. Book pages are not indexed by search engines. Please share links only with people you trust.

Cookies and local storage

We use browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember small things such as an upgrade in progress. Google Analytics uses cookies to count visits. You can block these in your browser; the site will still work, though you may need to sign in more often.

Keeping and deleting your data

Books stay until you ask us to delete them. Email hello@fondly.me from the address you signed in with and we will delete your account, your books and their contents, usually within 30 days. Payment records may be kept longer where the law requires. You can also ask us for a copy of your data or to correct it.

Children

Fondly is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information. Tell us if you think we have and we will delete it.
